What Alexandre Lacazette did for Sokratis at half-time after north London derby mistake

Arsenal ace Alexandre Lacazette appeared to give team-mate Sokratis Papastathopoulos some half-time words of encouragement in the north London derby.

Sokratis was caught out of position and made a crucial error in the first half of their clash with Tottenham as Christian Eriksen capitalised to score.

It led to the Greek defender coming under fire - but he responded as part of their fightback after the break.

And behind the scenes footage from the Emirates showed him being encouraged and fired-up by team-mate Lacazette, right until the moment the second half got underway.

They chatted in the tunnel as the rest of the team made their way out of the field, speaking all the way to the pitch.

Lacazette was seen repeatedly pointing at his head, urging his team-mate to stay switched on and concentrate, with the defender putting his arm around the Frenchman to reassure him the message had been heard.

Tactical adjustments saw the Gunners grow into the game, with Sokratis rock solid after the break as they fought back to draw 2-2.

He also found the back of the net, but he was denied a dramatic late winner due to offside.

Unai Emery was delighted with how they grew into the game and adapted after the break, cutting out the mistakes which blighted their first half.

He said: "There were two mistakes in the first half and they scored two goals. We spoke about that in the dressing room and we learned for the second half and after we were continuing getting in their boxes, taking corners and shots."
