After his superb performance against the north London side on Sunday, Adama Traore seems to be a likely target for Tottenham Hotspur, as the end of the transfer window grows closer.
The 25-year-old was denied a goal by Spurs captain, Hugo Lloris, in a one on one which stopped Wolves equalising just after an hour in the game at the weekend.
The Spanish international had a promising second season with Wolves, after joining them in 2018, which saw him get four goals and nine assists in the 37 Premier League games he was part of.
However, having only two years left on his five year contract and his drop in performance during the 2020/21 season, paves the way for a potential move.
He only managed two goals and three assists in the 37 Premier League games he played last season, almost halving his stats from the previous year.
Prior to his current team, Traore's senior career began at Barcelona in 2013, before moving to English football in 2015 with Aston Villa.
In an interview earlier this year, Traore called his former Spanish club 'home' when asked if there was a chance of a return to his former club.
"I have grown up there, I have been there for 10 years.
"Barcelona is my home...From here, we will have to manage with my agents and see what role Barcelona wants.”
Despite the Portuguese manager's good relationship with the Spaniard, Nuno Espirito Santo would undoubtedly welcome a reunion with Traore in north London as he has praised how "unique" he is as a player.
Earlier this year, Wolves reported Nuno's thoughts on him.
"Adama is unique, the moment he and teammates realise how good Adama can be, I hope I'll be here to see it, because he's very special."
At the end of last year, in an interview with the Premier League, Traore revealed his thoughts on Harry Kane's ability.
"[His] reaction of shooting is very fast. He doesn't need much space to find the target and I think that's very good quality for a striker."
The winger has undeniable strength and pace, which could do well in support of Tottenham's current team.
It is thought that Wolves are expecting around £40million for the player they paid £18million for in 2018.
There are mixed thoughts on whether this would be a loan move with future obligation to buy or a straight purchase.
With talks surrounding the exit of Tanguy Ndombele, amongst other skilful Spurs players, the signing could help increase the success they have seen in their opening two games in the Premier League.
