Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's Arsenal future remains the subject of much speculation, with Barcelona reportedly interested in signing the Gunners captain.
With injuries to Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele, the La Liga side have been heavily linked with a move for Aubameyang, with sporting director Eric Abidal recently confirming the club's interest.
Although a January move did not materialise, Abidal spoke of his admiration for the Gabon international and hinted at a renewed attempt to sign the forward in the summer.
"I know him (Aubameyang). He has a profile that has depth. He is important, and in his team he is decisive," Abidal told Spanish outlet Sport.
"It is good to bring this profile of player who can be in the market and can help you. We'll see what will happen.
"It is logical that in summer a 'nine' will come. It is a necessity. We know that Suarez will come back strong, but you have to bring a top player in the summer.
"There is a list with players like [Olivier] Giroud, [Fernando] Llorente or Aubameyang, but for one thing or another we decided not to sign [someone in January]."
Aubameyang's contract at Arsenal expires at the end of next season but talks have not resumed over a new deal.
With his future unclear, some Arsenal supporters have taken to social media with a transfer request for the club hierarchy.
If Aubameyang decides to leave the Emirates in the summer, many fans believe the club should attempt to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard as a replacement.
The Frenchman has been a revelation in Scotland since joining Celtic from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, winning two Premiership titles, one Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup twice.
He scored twice in Celtic's recent 4-0 win at Motherwell, taking his season tally to 24 goals in all competitions, with his form reportedly attracting the attention of Leicester City and Manchester United.
Former Rangers striker Ally McCoist explained that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is a big fan of the 22-year-old and believes the forward is destined for the top.
McCoist told talkSPORT in January: "The two best (in Scotland) in the forward areas are without doubt (Alfredo) Morelos and Edouard.
"There is absolutely no doubt about that. I spoke to Thierry Henry at the Liverpool vs Leicester City game and he really rates Edouard.
"He was saying in France in particular (Edouard is admired) and he personally really, really thinks he's got a chance of going right to the top."
Ex-Celtic striker Chris Sutton also paid tribute to Edouard during his commentary of the Motherwell game on BT Sport, stating that the forward was the closest player he has seen to Parkhead favourite Henrik Larsson.
In the post-match analysis, he said: "I stand by that. [Henrik] Larsson was a great but what he was, he was extremely unselfish. He played for the team.
"But what can't this guy do? He probably could get a bit better in the air and that may be it.
"He can hold the ball, he's got wonderful feet, he can go past players but it's his awareness and unselfishness as well.
"This boy is going places. His free kicks are ridiculous.
"Honestly, I can't think of another player across Europe who takes free kicks like him.
"In and around the box is such a difficult skill, he does it with ease. You expect a goal every time Celtic get a free kick!"
