'What a man' - How Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi is leaving no stone unturned in promotion push

His team had just cruised to a 3-0 victory at the City Ground, but there was no time to sit back and relax for Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi.

The Frenchman was quickly back to work, plotting his team’s course through the Championship as they look to mount a promotion push this term.

And by the look of things, he isn’t just planning for this week’s trips to Charlton Athletic and Fulham – Lamouchi is already doing the ground work for matches much further down the line.

The Reds boss’ tactics worked a treat on Saturday as the hosts ran riot to claim their first league victory of the season.

Birmingham City were given no chance as goals from Joe Lolley, Lewis Grabban and Michael Dawson secured the three points, with Forest pretty much in control throughout.

Putting together a game plan takes a lot of preparation, and it seems Lamouchi is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to doing his research.

The 47-year-old, who is managing in English football for the first time, was pictured attending the clash between Reading and Cardiff City on Sunday – a match which the Royals won 3-0.

Nothing unusual in that perhaps; a manager scouting the opposition.

But the Reds do not play Reading until October 26 and Cardiff until November 30.

Still, Lamouchi has already shown a penchant for attention to detail during his time in charge, and has made it clear he wants to give his players the best possible chance to succeed.

After what he described as the "perfect" performance at the weekend, he said

"For us, it was our best performance," he said. "But I hope there is a better one in the future.

"Yes, there is room for improvement."
