In a world full of dating apps, bars are often our go-to for a meet-cute. But if Liv Tripoli’s (@probablyrunningerrandss) experience is anything to go by, it might be worth considering other options, including sharing Uber rides with men.
In a viral TikTok, which has amassed 108,600 views, her story starts off the same as most people—she met a “super cute” guy at a bar. After exchanging numbers, they end up texting. He promises her that he’ll take her out, but according to Tripoli, he was “full of it” and never delivered on that promise.
Some time later, he invites her to an art fair along with some of their mutual friends. During the date, he puts his arm around her and tells her that the reason he didn’t take her out was because he had something going on. Later on, he suggests that they go to a bar where their mutual friend works as a bartender. So, they hop into an Uber, in a car that has “a huge gap in the middle.”
What happened inside this Uber?
“We’re turning the corner to get to the bar,” she recounts. “I’m looking out of the window on the left, and he’s sitting to my right, and he goes, [imitates cough] and I heard him cough. I’m like, ‘Whatever. ‘And he’s like, ‘Look at me.’ Like… what? I look over […] and he’s full on j—ing off.”
Stunned, Tripoli makes eye contact with the driver, who is equally as uncomfortable. After insisting once again that she look at him, he instructs her to “sit on it.” The TikToker says she “literally stayed mute,” and in response, the man tells her: “Well, at least suck on it.”
Then, they arrive at the bar, and Tripoli jumps out to meet her friend. Initially, she thinks that the man was embarrassed and went home, but her friend points out the man making out with a different girl.
“I’m staring at them, and I’m like, ‘Who is this man?’ And then the girl that he’s making out with comes over to me, and she’s like, ‘Do you have a problem? Why are you staring at me?’ And goes to swing on me,” she recounted. “And then he’s like, ladies, calm down. You don’t have to fight over me.”
“Nobody is fighting over you,” she concluded. “That was a crazy one.”

Commenters were shocked at this story. “My jaw is on the floor,” one said. “Doesn’t everyone do this?” another joked. “Seems normal.”
While a third remarked, “That’s an evening you won’t soon forget.” But the biggest highlight was a commenter who wrote, “What a jerk.”
Elsewhere, commenters were questioning the legality of the man’s behavior.
“Wow, I think you can have him arrested for that,” one wrote. “Ummm that’s illegal no?” another echoed. “You should 100% have reported it to the police,” a third suggested. “You had a witness!”
@probablyrunningerrandss I really debated posting this one, but it’s honestly so bad I had to share it ##storytime##baddate ♬ Chicken barks (Koke!) – Killy
