With so much to do, it can be easy to spend a small fortune, especially if you're heading there with a family. So ChronicleLive took a trip to The Hoppings to find out what you can get for £20.

Whether you're a thrill-seeker, a foodie, or visiting with children, this is what you could get for your money if you're budgeting £20 for your trip.

Most rides at The Hoppings average £3-£5 per ride. Some small children's rides start from £2.50, while the bigger, faster, rides appear to be slightly more expensive, with some costing £8.

For the thrill-seekers in Newcastle, AtmosFEAR is always a popular choice. People on this fast ride are swung up to 80ft into the sky and spun around in their seats. The ride costs £5 and although it takes up a quarter of the budget, judging by it's popularity among visitors to The Hoppings, it is worth adding to the list if you're a bit of a daredevil.

Another popular attraction among visitors is Booster Maxxx, which is among the more costly rides at £8. This ride is based on a pendulum which towers at over 100ft and has seats at either side. The pendulum spins at speed with the seats also spinning at the same time.

Star Flyer, a swing carousel which rotates as it climbs to the top of a tall tower, costs £5 and would end the visit with a slower paced ride. Or there's the faster paced Extreme which costs £4. This ride has a number of carriages which are thrust into the air and quickly spin around.

Both of these options would leave you with change in your pocket after your visit. But for those who wish to splash the whole budget, an alternative option would be the Reverse Bungee costing £15 and the AtmosFEAR, as mentioned above.

Those visiting The Hoppings with younger children will find a wide variety of options to keep the kids entertained, including character rides.

The Flying Dumbos costs £3, as does the Fun House. While two slides on the Helter Skelter cost £4, taking you to half your budget. Children can also enjoy the mirrored fun house, Ice Maze, for £2.50.

Brave children can also take a ride on the ghost train for £3.50 and finish off the visit with a ride on the Magic Mouse rollercoaster which costs £4.

If you're looking to grab a bite to eat at The Hoppings, there are plenty of vendors to choose from including those located in the food village. Acropolis, Redheads Mac 'n' Cheese and The Leaning Tower of Pizza are among the vendors at this year's funfair, along with the traditional burger vans situated throughout the site.

For those wishing to feed the family for £20 at The Hoppings, The Leaning Tower of Pizza's pizzas start from £7.99 and could be paired with a portion of chips (or two) from one of the other vendors, which cost on average £3.50 per portion. This would leave around £5 for three cans of pop (£1.50 each) or a little something sweet to share for desert.
