WGC-Mexico Championship: Tee times and TV coverage info for Friday

Rory McIlroy put on a show Thursday in Mexico City, posting a sensational 8-under par round of 63 to take the first-round lead at the WGC-Mexico Championship – but Dustin Johnson is just one shot back after 18 holes.

The top of the leaderboard is loaded with Ryder Cup stars, with Justin Thomas and Matt Kuchar also in the top 5. An opening double-bogey on the first hole of the day cost Tiger Woods, who only managed an even-par 71, but many of the game’s top stars struggled. Jordan Spieth is 4-over par after carding a 75, while defending champion Phil Mickelson is in a tie for 70th at 8-over par.

Play will resume Friday afternoon, and if you have a PGA Tour Live subscription, you can watch featured group play beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Televised coverage will begin at 2:00 p.m. ET on Golf Channel.

You can stream Golf Channel coverage online via NBC Sports Live.
