Weymouth boss raves over 'huge club' Notts County

Weymouth boss Brian Stock cannot wait to lock horns with Notts County and says the Magpies are a "huge club".

The two sides go head to head in the National League on Saturday with Neal Ardley's side hoping to secure a second successive win after beating promotion rivals Solihull Moors on Wednesday.

But they face a Terras side that have won their last two games and have given themselves a huge chance of climbing out of the relegation zone.

And Stock is relishing the chance of facing the world's oldest professional club in what is set to be a fascinating clash between the two sides.

"They’re a huge club," he said.

"They’ve got a lot of structure, a big budget and a lovely ground – I’ve played there myself – and they’ve got a lot of history.

“They’ll probably think they’ve got the structure to go back up into the league – and I think they do.

"They’ve got a good manager and they’re a strong outfit. This league is very, very tough.

“With recent results you can see a lot of teams can beat one another.

“We’ve got a lot of confidence behind us after the last two victories, so it should be a good game and one I think is another milestone for the club.”

Notts head south sitting in the National League play-off positions, but Stock is eager for his side to continue their impressive work as he praised his side's character.

“It’s mainly down to hard work, organisation and capitalising on opportunities. We’ve done that," he told the Dorset Echo.

“Sometimes performances aren’t going to be what you want them to be.

“What I have seen is a resilience, determination and when you’re in the situation we’ve been in, getting points is the most important thing.

“I felt we’ve really done that and seen games out really well – something that had let us down this year.”
