Wexford road sealed off by gardai after man's body found

The body of a man has been found on the side of a road in Wexford.

Gardai are currently at the scene on Newtown Road after the body of the man, aged in his 60s, was found at 7:30am this morning.

A post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation, although foul play is not currently suspected.

It is believed the man may have been sleeping rough in the area.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí were alerted to the sudden death a man (60s) along the Newtown Road in Wexford, this morning 30 October 2020 at approximately 7.30am.

"The body remains at scene and will be removed shortly to allow for a post-mortem to take place."
