Wexford FC unveil new jersey featuring Che Guevara's image

Wexford FC's new home jersey features artist Jim Fitzpatrick's famous image of Argentine revolutionary Che Guevara.

The club unveiled their new pink and maroon number for the remainder of the 2020 season made by Bodibro and sponsored by Mick Wallace.

MEP Wallace is the club's founder and backer and arranged for his European Parliament group GUE/NGL to also sponsor the jersey.

Wallace tweeted: "Many thanks to @bodibro for their relentless loyalty to the Wexford Youths, thanks to @jimfitzpatrick for his eternal image of Che, and thanks to @Europarl_EN Group @GUENGL for all their support..."

Wexford are not the first League of Ireland club to feature an iconic image on a jersey.

Bohemians released a Bob Marley-themed top in 2018 - celebrating the reggae legend's appearance at Dalymount Park in 1980.

The kit was pulled, however, after an image rights issue arose.
