Wexford hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald has been slapped with a two game ban by the GAA.
The fiery Clare native was sent to the stands by referee Patrick Murphy during Wexford’s drawn Allianz League clash with Antrim in Belfast on Saturday.
Fitzgerald, 49, clashed with opposite number Darren Gleeson and even though he was not shown a red card, the offence was classified as “any type of physical interference with an opposing player or team official” and carries a two-match ban.

It means the Model boss will not be on the sideline for their last Division 1B game against Dublin in Chadwick’s Wexford Park on Saturday and, more importantly, their Leinster Championship opener against Laois in UPMC Nowlan Park on 26 June.
Both teams finished with 14-men in Corrigan Park in Belfast and afterwards Fitzgerald spoke about the clash with rival manager Gleeson.
“It isn’t my first time that’s happened and it probably won’t be my last,” he said.
“I’ve seen various managers go at it toe to toe, that’s the way it goes,” he said.
“I’ve nothing but respect for what Darren Gleeson has done and what he had done in Antrim, but if we’ve to say something to each other we’ll have a go. And that’s the way it is, that’s between the two of us. I won’t be talking about it anyway.”
The pair could be seen on TV after the game embracing.
Wexford look set to challenge the red card issued to their joint captain Matthew O’Hanlon for interfering with the helmet of Antrim’s Neil McManus.
