Wetherspoons starts Eat Out to Help Out replacement - with breakfast fry-up for £2.99

Wetherspoons is launching its own cut-price deal following the end of the successful Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

The pub chain has slashed its prices on a range of meals and drinks to compete with McDonald's and Domino's Pizza in the replacement offer.

Their new 'Stay Out To Help Out' will start this week, meaning diners can get cheap meals from Monday to Wednesday until November 11.

It follows the end of the government’s drive to encourage diners to eat at restaurants and pubs by subsidising meals during the month of August.

Wetherspoon said prices on some of its meals and drinks will be cheaper than those available in fast food restaurants.

Meals on offer include an 11-inch Margherita pizza with a soft drink for £3.99 or desserts at £1.99, according to  HotUkDeals.

Here are some of the deals on offer:

  • Breakfast (fried egg, two rashers of bacon, two hash browns, baked beans, sausage, tomato and toast) -£2.99
  • Small breakfast - £2.49.
  • Three small plates (from a choice of 21) - £7.50
  • Desserts - £1.99
  • Mini desserts - 99p
  • Coffee or tea (with free refills) - 99p
  • Soft drinks (including Pepsi, diet Pepsi, Pepsi Max, Pepsi Max Cherry, San Pellegrino, R Whites Lemonade plus 20 other canned and bottled soft drinks) - 99p

Chairman Tim Martin said: “The Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme was extremely popular with our customers and a great boost to the hospitality industry.

“We are keen to offer our customers a superb choice of food and drink at great value for money prices.

“Our offer means that a classic beef burger in our pubs will be even better value than McDonald’s.”
