Wetherspoons opening hours confirmed as pubs prepare to reopen

Wetherspoons has confirmed its opening hours in the UK.

The pub chain closed in March due to the coronavirus crisis but will reopen in England on July 4 in line with Government guidance.

Owner Mr Martin said branches will offer a slightly reduced menu, while all workers will be handed facemasks and protective eyewear, when pubs reopen, reports Birmingham Live.

He confirmed: "We are extremely pleased that pubs are reopening on 4 July after a long hiatus.

"We are going to discuss the precise government proposals with our pub managers and staff before we comment further on the details."

Usual opening hours will apply, which, on average is 8am to midnight (Sunday to Thursday) and 8am to 1am (Friday and Saturday).

It comes after Wetherspoons confirmed it wouldn't be showing any football or sporting events on screens inside its pubs.

The pub said: "As our pubs reopen, our focus will be on meeting social distancing requirements and keeping our customers and staff safe.

"For this reason and to avoid crowds congregating, no football or sporting events will be shown on our TVs during July."
