Wetherspoons lover claims he was served super-sized chip measuring 13.4 inches

A Wetherspoons fan has claimed he was served “the biggest chip ever seen” at one of his beloved pubs, insisting the spud fry stretched a massive 13.4 inches.

Harry Tayler filmed his super-sized chip as he and his pal Connor Armento, tucked into a wrap and burger at The Old Swanne Inne in Evesham, Worcestershire , on Friday afternoon.

The 22-year-old has been forced to defend his discovery, after angered fries fanatics questioned how the chip could have been sliced from a single spud.

Others went as far as to claim he'd bitten a chip's ends off and joined two others on either side.

A Facebook post from Harry following the discovery sees the college student pan his camera across the full length of the 'beast', before his smirking companion looks down the lens to declare 'it's the biggest chip I've ever seen'.

Stunned fans rushed to the comments to congratulate 22-year-old college student Harry on his 'monster' find, with more than 100 people reacting to his bemusing announcement.

Harry hit back at demands he 'should be ashamed' of the alleged scam by angrily replying “of course it's real, grow up”.

He went on to shut down another sceptic, saying: “if you can’t accept the fact my chip's bigger than yours, please leave”.

Harry's since boasted he even showed shocked 'Spoons staff the discovery.

He felt guilty eating it, so left it until last - but said the super-sized chip did taste good in the end.

Harry said he hadn’t even noticed the giant chip until a few minutes after he started eating, at which point he thought 'it's bl**dy massive'.

"We were both shocked at the time, as you can tell by Connor in the video,” he said. “We measured it on an app he had on his phone. It was quite funny.

"Some people didn't believe it and others did."

Harry's post said: "Wetherspoons Evesham. Old Swan Inn. The sheer size of this beast. 13.4 inches."

Dan Tustin said: "That is one big chip, congrats on the find."

Cameron Sherry questioned: "How can that have been birthed from a single spud?"

Kenny Benet said: "I am not buying it. You just bit the ends off the middle chip and shoved one in either side!"

Jimmy Seay agreed and added: "Multiple chips inserted into one another, it's plain to see."

Another Facebook user, Dan Evans, said he wasn’t buying the story and went on to say Harry should “be ashamed”.

Scott Russell simply added: "Photoshopped."

Last month, Sam Mumford hit the headlines after finding what he claimed to be 'the world's longest chip' stretching a giant 18.5 inches, but was also hit by claims that he was holding two chips together.
