With the four day bank holiday weekend now well underway, many of us are planning to visit bars, pubs and restaurants with friends and family.
To mark Her Majesty's monumental 70 year reign, the May bank holiday was moved to Thursday, June 2, with an additional bank holiday on Friday, June 3. This will mean many people have four days to enjoy themselves away from work.
As one of the UK's biggest pub companies, many people are expected to flock to their local JD Wetherspoon this weekend to enjoy some food and drinks. But what some may not know is that the pubs actually have a dress code that people must adhere to.
What people can and cannot wear is stated on its website. Guidance clearly states: "All customers must be fully clothed throughout their visit. The company does not permit the removal of shirts or footwear."
Last summer, a young woman said she was kicked out of a Wetherspoons pub for wearing an "inappropriate" top. Mollie Wood said she felt humiliated after being asked to leave by a male manager.
The 20-year-old claimed the male employee said she couldn't be served because her cleavage showing was "equal to a man being shirtless". She said he told her that he'd refused service all day to blokes without tops.
The pair wanted to grab some food after watching England beat Croatia 1-0 in the opening Euro 2020 match (which aired a year late due to the covid pandemic).
