Wetherspoons customers will have to fill out a form before entering a pub from July 4

This weekend, pubs, bars and restaurants across the UK will open their doors to paying customers for the first time since March.

Amongst them is Wetherspoons, which is preparing to serve pints and pitchers when it reopens on July 4.

However, the pub chain will look very different when it reopens, as it has introduced several new safety measures to keep its staff and customers as safe as possible.

As part of the reopening plan, Wetherspoons has announced that it will require anyone who is eating or drinking there to fill in a short form

A spokesperson for the pub chain told Mirror Money : "Wetherspoon will introduce NHS Test and Trace in all its pubs in England from reopening on Saturday July 4.

"Wetherspoon is to ask customers to fill out a short form, each time they visit, which contains their name and telephone number.

"Customers will be asked to record their arrival and departure times, and to leave the form in a box as they exit.

"The forms will be stored confidentially for 21 days. After that, they can be safely disposed of."

Wetherspoons fans are fuming over the new additions to the cocktail menu

The new system has been put in place due to government guidelines - and it is something which will be rolled out in pubs and bars across the UK.

The government guidance reads: "You should assist this service by keeping a temporary record of your customers and visitors for 21 days, in a way that is manageable for your business, and assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data if needed.

"This could help contain clusters or outbreaks."
