Wetherspoons has issued an apology after Carling and Coors Light ran out on tap amid lorry driver shortages.
First Nando’s ran out of chicken, then the great McDonald’s milkshake drought, now Wetherspoons has run out of two of its most popular lagers.
The pub chain is beginning to see stocks of certain popular beers dwindle owing to a “lack of lorry drivers and strike action”, according to a sign in one branch

Graham Hughes shared a photo of a sign from a Wetherspoons pub on Twitter which said: “We regret to inform you that we are out of stock of Carling, Coors and Bud Light.
“Due to supply issues regards to lack of lorry drivers and strike action which are out of our control [sic]”.
Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “We are experiencing some supply problems with both Carling and Coors, which means that some pubs do not have the products available.
“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.
“We know that the brewers are trying to resolve the issue.”
Twitter users were quick to mock Wetherspoons boss Tim Martin for his vocal support of Brexit which is believed to have contributed to lorry driver shortages.

Whereas others put the shortages down to “teething problems”.

It comes as other breweries struggle to keep up with supply due to a shortage of lorry drivers and the “pingdemic”.
Recently the Old Black Horse in Mapperly, Nottinghamshire, warned there would be a shortage of Heineken and Birra Moretti.
The Fox and Hounds Pub in Clavering, Essex, announced on Monday it was one of the many pubs also struggling with shortages.
It said the issue had left its customers “rowdy”.
Based on a survey of its members, published in early August, the Road Haulage Association estimates there has been a shortage of 100,000 drivers in the UK.
