Wetherspoon's 'issue' meant some pubs have 'not been able to serve food at all'

Wetherspoons customers will have been left disappointed by an 'issue' which meant some pubs have not been able to serve food.

A spokesman for the pub chain, which operates more than 900 pubs across the UK, said the problem at its main distribution centre has since been resolved.

The issue is understood to have mainly affected pubs in the South West but is not connected to a national lorry driver shortage, the pub chain confirmed.

A number of pubs were forced to offer a reduced menu while some branches were unable to serve any food at all.

Curry Nights, Steak Nights, traditional breakfasts and beer and burger deals are all popular options at Wetherspoon's pubs, but it is not yet known which dishes were affected.

Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “There has been an issue, though not relating to a national lorry driver shortage, which has now been resolved, at the company’s main distribution centre.

“As a result some of our pubs in the region have had to offer a reduced menu and in a few cases not been able to serve food at all.

“We would expect everything to return to normal from today.”
