Wetherspoon pubs across Nottingham slash the price a pint to £1.49 this summer

Times are hard right now with petrol prices at a record high, rocketing energy bills and the soaring cost of the weekly shopping bill. But at least you can get a pint for less than £1.50 this summer so it's not all doom and gloom.

Your eyes do not deceive you. Wetherspoon pubs are charging £1.49 for a pint of Greene King IPA and Ruddles Best. It comes at a time when the average price of a pint in the UK is £4.07 according to the British Beer & Pub Association, rising to around £5.50 in London.

The pub chain behind the Roebuck Inn in Nottingham city centre, The Samuel Hall in Sherwood and The William Peveril in Bulwell, isn't just reducing the price of beer. The summer deal also means discounts on a wide range of spirits, long drinks, and cider.

It means a pitcher of Pimm's is down to £4.99, an Aperol Spritz at £5.99 and certain gins, vodkas and rums for £1.99 with a mixer. Customers will be able to choose two drinks for £5 from a selection of bottled lagers, including Peroni, Estrella Galicia and Desperados and also from a choice of three flavoured Kopparberg bottled ciders.

Wetherspoon’s chief executive John Hutson said: “We are always keen to offer our customers the best possible range of drinks at excellent value-for-money prices As always staff will serve customers responsibly."

The deal will last throughout the summer until Friday September 30.
