JEREMY Nunan will be an exception to the rule for Wests in the Newcastle District Cricket Association grand final.
Nunan, who recently turned 18, is not only the youngest member of the team but he's also one of three Rosellas that weren't part of the first XI in their last two-day decider.
The remaining eight members of the team are backing up from that most recent success in 2017-18.
However, the Dungog High School graduate made his debut the following summer and has been a regular across 2019-20 and 2020-21.
During this period he featured in back-to-back Tom Locker Cup showdowns and feels that assists him against Belmont at Harker Oval on Friday and Saturday.
"I think for sure it helps me not be as nervous and a little more confidence in my game," Nunan said.
The right-arm paceman has taken 41 wickets in the top grade, including 17 this campaign, but missed the last round and semis were washed out so hasn't played since February.
"It feels like forever since we've played," he said.
"It's kind of good to have a break, but at the same time you lose your rhythm and you've got to try and get back into it. It's almost like starting the season again."
Aaron Bills and Stewart Morgan, who was 12th man last time around, are the other fresh faces for Wests.
Belmont have five players making their maiden appearance - Bailey Newell, Rich Moolman, Joseph Gillard, Luke Muddle and Zac Symonds.
