Weston-super-Mare man arrested after trying to sell stolen goods to undercover police on Facebook

A Weston-super-Mare man has been arrested as police investigate attempts to sell stolen items on Facebook.

Motocross helmets, trousers and body armour were reported as stolen from a property on Birnbeck Road, Weston-super-Mare, on July 12.

A 26-year-old man advertised the good on Facebook and unknowingly began a conversation with undercover officers who arranged to buy the items.

Officers arrested the man yesterday (July 16) when they met him with the stolen property.

The man has since been released under investigation and the items are being returned to their owners.
