Westminster today - live updates: Theresa May faces Cabinet revolt over funding for NHS crisis

Theresa May will face a revolt over NHS spending from her top team as Boris Johnson is expected to use a Cabinet meeting to urge the Prime Minister for a £100m-a-week funding increase for the health service.

Conservative MPs have ramped up pressure on the Prime Minister in recent days, accusing her of failing to act on the NHS and social care crisis after she dismissed their concerns in a brief letter.

She will also face anger from pro-Brexit Tories after senior EU figures told The Independent that the UK has already “agreed in principle” to a Norway-style transition deal, which accepts all EU rules without the power to shape them.

Ukip’s Henry Bolton battles on in the face of mass resignations and a vote of no confidence from his party’s ruling body. The under-fire leader has refused to resign after it emerged that his former girlfriend Jo Marney had sent racist texts about Prince Harry's fiancee Meghan Markle.

Newly appointed Justice Secretary David Gauke faces e a Commons grilling, where MPs are likely to focus on his decision not to challenge the release of the 'black cab' rapist John Worboys.
