A suspicious vehicle near Westminster Abbey is being investigated by police, leading to a number of road closures. Officers were called after two bangs were heard at around 4.40pm this afternoon.
The City of Westminster Police tweeted out a warning, they said: “Police are at currently in the vicinity of #Westminster Abbey dealing with an ongoing incident involving what is believed to be a suspicious vehicle. A number of road closures are in place while emergency services deal with the incident.”
The nature of the ongoing incident is still unknown but helicopters can be heard in the area and Parliament Square is thought to has been evacuated.
