Westlife will play Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Cork in huge open air gig next year

Westlife have announced a massive concert for Pairc Ui Chaoimh in Cork next year.

The boyband will play at the Rebels' GAA stadium for the first time ever on Friday, August 28, 2020.

MCD Promotions held a press conference along with Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily on Monday morning.

Following the announcement, the band said: "We’re over the moon to announce we’re going to be playing Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork for the first time ever next year!

"We can’t wait to bring this show to Ireland which will be more spectacular than anything we’ve ever done before."

They added: "Headlining Páirc Uí Chaoimh for the first time ever is a dream come true for all of us."

Tickets, starting from €59.50, will go on sale this Friday, September 20, at 9am. Fans can sign up to get pre-sale tickets here.

The announcement follows the news they'll play at Wembley Stadium for the first time ever in their 20-year career.

It's off the back of the success of their Twenty Tour, which celebrated their two decades in the music business.

The tour saw Westlife play two sold-out shows at Croke Park, Dublin.

The boys sold out shows in 27 cities in 13 different countries.

The once-in-a-lifetime Wembley concert, on Saturday, August 22 2020, will see the global pop kings perform their greatest hits including Swear It Again, Flying Without Wings and You Raise Me Up.
