The Irish lads played to packed crowds in Newcastle earlier this year and there will be another chance to see Westlife in 2020 when they bring their Stadiums in the Summer to the North East.
Fans of the group speculated another tour might be in the offing after they announced a huge concert at Wembley Stadium for next year and they were spot on as Shane, Mark, Kian and Nicky have announced a string of outdoor shows for next year, hot on the heels of their sold out Twenty tour, which delighted fans at Newcastle's Utilita Arena in June.
Westlife – the UK’s top selling album group of the 21 Century – have announced a 15-date Stadiums in the Summer Tour, which includes a show at Durham’s Emirates Riverside in Chester-le-Street on Saturday July 18 .
The tour will see the pop kings perform all of their greatest hits including Swear It Again, Flying Without Wings and You Raise Me Up’as well as tracks from their forthcoming new album Spectrum, including iTunes number 1 Hello My Love.
The tour, which covers some of the biggest outdoor venues in the UK, will conclude with Westlife’s first-ever Wembley Stadium show on August 22.
“The reaction to our comeback tour was beyond anything any of us ever imagined so we’re going to do it all over again but this time in some of the largest outdoor venues in the UK," said Westlife.
"The shows are going to be incredible and will include all our greatest hits. We can’t wait to perform in Durham,” say the band.
Speaking about the Stadiums in the Summer Tour coming to Durham, Emirates Riverside Chief Operating Officer Richard Dowson said: “We are thrilled Westlife are including Emirates Riverside in their summer stadium tour. They have enjoyed huge success over the past 20 years and this will be a fantastic night to look forward to next summer.”
