Westlife star Nicky Byrne would never be a professional dancer because of his chin, says Dancing With The Stars judge Brian Redmond

He may be a world renowned pop star with Westlife but Nicky Byrne would never be a professional dancer – because of his chin.

So says Dancing With The Stars judge Brian Redmond, who has seen the 40-year-old singer strut his stuff numerous times.

“I’m still giving out to him about his chin,” says Brian.

“When Nicky did Strictly Come Dancing a few years back he has this thing where he sticks his chin forward a little bit when he’s dancing.

“We do our group dances for the final of Dancing With The Stars each year and there’s one day we all go into the studio and rehearse together – Nicky, Jen and all the couples.

“And I’m always saying, ‘Stick your chin back Nicky.’

“He invited us to the Westlife concert in Croke Park this year and we had a bit of banter before the gig where he was saying please come along but don’t judge the dancing.”

Brian said it was a great night and he was impressed with the whole show.

Fellow DWTS judge Loraine Barry said they assumed Nicky would be back hosting the popular RTE dance series when it returns for a fourth season in January, but they had not been told.

“I don’t know that he’s not coming back,” she said.

“I presume he will be back and I will be delighted. He’s just great for the show.

“They have been on tour and their Croke Park concert was fantastic.

“We were invited to the after-party and we were delighted. Nicky was brilliant and supplied the tickets for us and we were thrilled to go and support him. The four lads were amazing.

“They were very rehearsed and it was a great show. I was very impressed with the dance routines and took video footage.”

Brian added: “Nicky is a brilliant person.”
