Westlife's Shane Filan dedicates album to late parents after losing them in lockdown

Westlife 's Shane Filan has dedicated their new album to his late parents after he lost them during lockdown.

The band are set to go on a huge arena tour with their new album Wild Dreams which is already sold out in Wembley Arena.

Shane posted two photos of the album to his Instagram page which showed the album cover and their dedication to his parents on the inside cover.

He shared the snaps with his 486k followers and wrote alongside: "That feeling when you hold your new album in your hands for the 1st time! .. never gets old!!!

"My Mum & Dad would have loved this one #weslife #wilddreams

"Out Tomorrow. To all our amazing fans all over the world , This is our 13th time to give you an album & your love and support for us over the last 22 years has been just INCREDIBLE!!!…Thank you , we love you & We hope you all love this one as much as we did making it."

Fans loved the dedication and took to the comments to discuss how sweet they thought it was.

One commented: "They would be so proud Can’t wait to listen to it."

A second person wrote: "They would be so proud," as another fan added: "Cannot wait to hear this your mam & dad be beaming be down on you with pride."

A fourth said: "They would be proud and their love will reach u in every single moment."

The new album will be released Friday 26th November after being written and created during lockdown.

When talking about the upcoming album, bandmember Nicky Byrne said the band can't wait to start touring again.

The Sun reported he said: "We cannot wait to get back out on the road. This tour includes some of our biggest ever shows in the UK and Ireland and we finally get to put on a show at Wembley Stadium after all these years!

"The tour is going to be spectacular with some big surprises that I think the fans will love. It will include all of our greatest hits as well as some of our new music which has gone down so well with everyone. This is a Westlife tour not to be missed. We're all looking forward to it."

The new record also features a song, Always With Me which is written about Shane’s mum and dad passing away within six months of each other.

Alive is also about the world opening up again again and returning to normality following the covid lockdowns.

Nicky added: "This album is one we’re very proud of, particularly for the creativity."

Shane has been posting to his Instagram about the international promo they've been doing ahead of their new music.

He shared a post of the band doing video interviews together where he joked they 'were in 16 countries in one day'.
