Westlife's Nicky Byrne confirmed to return as the host of Dancing with the Stars

Westlife star Nicky Byrne will be returning as the host of Dancing with the Stars, Louis Walsh revealed.

The music mogul confirmed the Dubliner's return but said he would never go on the RTE show, because they don’t offer enough money.

Speaking just before he jet off for the first live show at the weekend, he told Irish Daily Mirror: “Yes, he[Nicky] loves doing that show. He absolutely loves that show.”

However, when asked if he would have any interest of going on, he said: “No. I wouldn’t do that show, they don’t pay. RTE pay nobody. No way."

When asked the same question about the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, where his former Ireland’s Got Talent co- star is currently topping the leaderboard, he added: “No! I’m not a dancer.

“I know what I’m good at, and it’s not dancing. I’m not doing it. I’m not in the fame game.”

He also hinted that the reunuited band may be adding a Dublin date after their tour next year.

He said: “They are just going to do Cork I think, two gigs there and then maybe something in Dublin the year after.

“That’s why they are making themselves scarce. They are not going to flog themselves and the album is good.”

The proud manager went on to commend Westlife on their latest single Blood, which aims to raise awareness about bullying.

He said: “We were all bullied. We were all bullied in school. Everyone was bullied in some way. We all were, it is part of growing up in Ireland, I think it is everywhere, but it is all in different forms.

“The video is amazing and the song is really good. It has a great message.”

Louis was speaking at the TanOrganic Beauty Blog 2019 awards where he was on hand to present the Influencer’s Got Talent award.
