Westlife pay touching tribute to Kian Egan's late father

Westlife paid a touching tribute to Kian Egan’s late dad during their Newcastle gig this week.

The Irish boyband are well and truly into their comeback tour after kicking it off last month in Belfast.

During their Newcastle show, the lads decided to dedicate their hit 'You Raise Me Up' to Kian’s dad, who passed away a decade ago.

Lights flooded the crowd as everyone held their phones up in the Utilia Arena.

Kian’s dad Kevin sadly passed away nearly 10 years ago and the band performed the song at his funeral in 2009.

They asked fans to stand and hold up their lights for what would’ve been Kevin’s birthday.

Kian posted the video on Instagram as a tribute to his dad and added a sweet message along with it.

Kian said: “Happy Birthday Dad. It’s hard to believe your gone nearly 10 years. We all miss and love you so much xx #gonetoosoon #proudson.”
