Westlife concert producers say SSE Hydro seating chaos won't happen again as fans hit out at mix up

The concert producer behind Westlife's show at the SSE Hydro, which left fans furious when they were forced to stand throughout the performance, has said that the incident will not be repeated at the remaining shows.

Just before yesterday's show at 6.30pm last night, the Hydro Tweeted out a link to a statement to say that due to transport delays, the concert, part of the band's Twenty Tour, had been changed from a fully seated show to a seated and standing concert.

Fans of the boy band, some of whom had paid hundreds of pounds for tickets, instantly hit out at the move, while many gig-goers complained afterwards they were unable to see much of the show.

The SSE Hydro has offered refunds to fans, saying in their statement "If you are unable to stand or prefer not to, you will be entitled to a full refund from your original point of purchase."

Now, concert producer Live Nation, who are behind  has released a statement explaining that the seating issues were due to "the delay of production elements".

They have also assured fans planning on going to the show when they return on June 3 to June 5 and June 7 to 8.

The statement read: "On Tuesday 28 May Westlife’s Twenty Tour at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro suffered seating configuration adjustments due to the delay of production elements of the Twenty Tour arriving at the arena. This is a rare and isolated incident.

"The remainder of the Twenty Tour at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro and across the U.K. will not be subject to any further seating issues. Westlife are committed to delivering an unmissable show for their dedicated fans."
