Westlife are backing a global relief fund to support live music tour crews who have lost their income during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The pop superstars, who made a sensational return to the top of the UK album charts in November, have released a special edition T-shirt for the Crew Nation initiative.
The fund is is bringing together some of the biggest names in music to raise money for thousands of crew members who have seen their incomes wiped out following the ban on concerts and large gatherings.
Designed by band member Mark Feehily, the limited-edition T-shirt is available for Westlife fans to purchase today, with all proceeds donated to the Crew Nation global relief fund.
The band said: “Our concerts would not be possible without so many incredibly talented people behind-the-scenes. The live music industry, like so many others, is being hit hard by the impact of the pandemic.
"If you can, please help us in supporting the amazing crews out there through the @livenation #CrewNation fund. All proceeds of our limited edition Crew Nation t-shirt will be donated!”
Westlife were forced to cancel a series of dates around this year’s ‘Stadiums In The Summer’ tour earlier this week and have rescheduled two flagship shows at Ireland’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork until August 2021.
The band have sold over 55 million records world-wide and are the only band to have their first 7 singles enter the UK chart at No.1. They also have the most singles of any artist to debut at No.1 in the UK.
