Western Michigan transfer Jayden Reed commits to Michigan State

Jayden Reed may no longer be a Bronco, but he’ll be a horse for Michigan State in the future.

The former Western Michigan University receiver has committed to Michigan State after transferring out of WMU.

Reed piled up 797 receiving yards and 8 TDs on 56 catches as a freshman and is described by Scout’s Corey Robinson as an “electric playmaker”. The 6′ 170 lb. speedster had four games of 100+ yards receiving including 121 against Syracuse. His biggest game of the season was a 7 catch, 137 yard, 4 TD effort against Miami of Ohio.

Reed also had a 93-yard punt return touchdown against Delaware State and averaged 17.9 yards per punt return. He could be a needed weapon in the return game for MSU.

Reed was named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America and second-team All-MAC.

He will have to sit out a season before being eligible in 2020 unless he applies for and is granted a waiver by the NCAA.

Michigan State beat out Iowa in the recruitment of Reed.
