CHANDIGARH: The meteorological department has indicated a change of weather in the city within the next 24 hours, with the likelihood of wind and heavy rain in the Tricity.
Chandigarh did not receive much rain this monsoon and at the fag end of the rainy season, it has been raining intermittently for the last three days.
The meteorological department has predicted good amount of rain on September 16 and 17. Sources said a mild Western Disturbance is also likely to become active.
An IMD official said, “During this, there is a possibility of normal or above normal rains in Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana. The departure of monsoon in Chandigarh takes place on September 15. But this time due to the delay, after the formation of a strong weather system, it has been raining well for the last four days.
Therefore, there is the possibility of light rain intermittently for one more week. Maximum temperature in the city today is 30 degrees and the minimum temperature is 24 degrees.”
