FAQs

Does Western Digital offer free shipping?

Yes, Western Digital offers free standard shipping on orders over $50 if you’re not a Western Digital Member. If you are signed up for the membership program (which is free to join), you can also get free shipping on all eligible orders with no minimum spends.

Can I recycle my old drive at Western Digital?

Yes, Western Digital has the Easy Recycle program where you can send your old NAS systems and internal or external HDDs and SSDs to Western Digital. In doing so, you’ll get rewarded with 15% off your next purchase over $50. What’s even better is that what you send in doesn’t even have to be a Western Digital product! This recycling initiative is in place due to Western Digital's commitment to becoming more sustainable.

Does Western Digital offer a warranty on purchases?

Yes, when you purchase a Western Digital product, it'll be covered for either one year, two years, three years, or five years. For the full terms and conditions of Western Digital's warranties, head on over to their website.

What is Western Digital's returns policy?

You can return your Western Digital purchase within 30 days of it being shipped to you. If you have ordered software you won’t be able to return it if you’ve received a download link or got the license key through email. To start a return you need to go to the ‘Order History’ section of your account, or if you used the guest checkout, you need to call the customer service team.

Western Digital Saving tips

Watch for seasonal sales

Keep an eye out around key holidays like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Labor Day, President's Day, Christmas, and the change of the seasons. Although you'll find Western Digital offers deals all year round, the biggest and best tend to pop up around these events, with savings of up to 50% off and savings through the likes of multibuy offers.

Check the clearance section

You can also pick up older models at a discount through the clearance section, where Western Digital offers up to 40% off the last of stock it wants to shift to help it sell. These items are brand new, but usually not the latest model the brand has to offer. Be sure to snap up offers sooner rather than later, though, as once stock runs out, the brand don't tend to replace it.

Get a student discount

Students and teachers can save 20% on Western Digital items when they verify their status with Youth Discount. Just sign in to a valid Youth Discount account to verify your details, and you'll be sent a code to add at the checkout for a saving. Note that you can verify more than once to receive multiple codes, but they cannot be stacked with any other promotions.

Get a senior discount

It's not just students who can save - if you're a senior (55 or older), you can verify your age with a Senior Discount account to receive a code for 15% off at the checkout, letting you save extra on your tech. As with the student discount, this process can be repeated for future orders, but the code cannot be combined with other promotions for additional savings.

Buy recertified

If you don't need your tech to be brand spanking new, you can save up to 40% by shopping the recertified section of the Western Digital range. Items here are second hand or open-box returns that have been inspected to ensure they offer like-new functionality, making for a great way to get better prices versus buying fresh out-of-the-box models. All items are tested to ensure quality, and also come with a 1-year warranty to protect against defects and faults, meaning you won't run the risk of lower quality in order to save either.

Sign up and save

Save 10% on your first order simply by signing up for the Western Digital newsletter. When you sign up, you’ll also be the first to know about any sales, offers, and product releases, giving you more ways to save on future orders, too.

How we source coupon codes

All the codes you see on PC Gamer have been sourced by our dedicated coupons team. Using our affiliate networks, partnerships with brands, and the world wide web, we track down the latest and best coupon codes and ways to save on your online orders. Our pages are updated multiple times a week, and our commercial team also uses their connections to negotiate exclusive codes with big name brands, so you can find all the best available codes and promotions listed in one place.

How we test coupon codes

To ensure that every code you see is ready to use, our team tests each one before uploading it to a page. Whether it's for free shipping, a multibuy offer, a student discount, or savings in the sales, we check that the code can be applied at the checkout and works as described. We don’t include any one-time or user-specific codes, so you haven’t got to worry about anyone else beating you to the punch, and you’ll find codes for products across all kinds of categories.

We also include all the information about a coupon, such as terms and conditions and the expiry date, on the page below the offer description. Simply click ‘Terms & Conditions’ and you’ll expand the code box, where you’ll be able to read any specific instructions or requirements associated with your chosen coupon. We do our best to update this information whenever any changes are made, with each page checked at least twice a week.

What to do if a coupon code doesn’t work

Despite our best efforts, sometimes coupons won’t work as expected. Expiry dates and terms and conditions can be changed by the retailer, or the code may simply no longer be accepted. Should you run into any issues, don’t worry - our customer service team is available to offer support.

The first port of call should always be to check the coupon’s terms and conditions to make sure you meet all requirements. Codes may be product-specific (i.e. 5% off gaming laptops), require a minimum order value (i.e. when you spend $50 or more), or need you to verify your status (i.e. verify with a valid military email address). Click the ‘terms & conditions’ text below the ‘Get Code’ button to view all available information.

If you’re still having issues once you’ve confirmed that you meet the necessary requirements, you can get in touch with our team by sending an email to coupons.pcgamer@futurenet.com. Include a summary of which code you tried to use, where you found it, and what went wrong, and we’ll reply as soon as we can to help out.

How we make money

PC Gamer earns money from its coupon pages through a commission model. We have deals in place with every retailer that has a corresponding coupon page on our site. When you shop with one of these retailers and use one of our codes to get a discount, the brand will pay us a percentage of the final order total in commission.

Using this model means that redeeming a discount through PC Gamer never costs you a thing. We don’t charge any fees to apply a code, and all our money is made directly from retailers, not our audience. You’ll only ever pay for the products or services you buy, with lower prices just as they’re described on the page.
