Bristol’s long awaited Westbury-on-Trym wildlife park is set to reopen next month after more than two decades of closure.

The Westbury Wildlife Park Foundation announced news of its re-launch to thousands of its Facebook followers on April 15.

Board trustees Kira Emslie and her partner Jonathan Ashby, leaders of the year long regeneration project said: “From the 6th May the gates will finally be open.

“We have worked hard through rain, shine and snow every day with the help of the community and volunteers.

“We are incredibly excited to say, the park is ready to open.”
