Westbrook was booed by Jazz fans every time he touched the ball

Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook is not liked by many opposing fan bases across the NBA. If there was ever a time that statement was true, it was Monday night on the road against the Utah Jazz.

During the first half of the game on Monday night against the Jazz, Westbrook was booed by those on hand at Vivint Smart Home Arena every time he touched the ball.

The Thunder held a 50-37 lead at halftime as Westbrook accounted for 10 points by himself with Steven Adams chipping in 10 points in the first half as well.

According to some reporters in the building, Westbrook had been having a back-and-forth with some Jazz fans near the Thunder bench which could explain why he was booed each time he had the ball.

The boos for Westbrook are nothing new for the former MVP. In fact, Westbrook recently told reporters that it doesn’t phase him and it’s something that he expects.

“It doesn’t matter to me,” Westbrook said. “It doesn’t change anything but I would boo me too if I was the other team.”

The meeting between the Thunder and Jazz on Monday was the final matchup of the regular season as OKC won the previous three games of the series.
