Almost two thirds of clubs in the West of Scotland League have admitted they wouldn't last more than a month if forced to play without crowds.
That was the findings of a survey sent to all 67 member clubs last week as league chiefs try to to manoeuvre a way through the Covid-19 crisis.
Out of the 67 clubs, 55 responded and a staggering 70.5 per cent warned they wouldn't last beyond four weeks without matchday income generated by fans.
Just 9.1 per cent of clubs believed they could survive until the end of the season.
When asked if they would be willing to start the season without fans in grounds, a resounding 70.9 per cent answered 'no'.
There was no clear consensus on when to start the season, with the vote split virtually straight down the middle on a choice of October 10 or October 31.
Clubs were also polled with regard to the use of changing facilities.
Just over half of clubs (52.7 per cent) said they could meet 2m social distancing guidelines.
But 63.6 per cent of polled clubs said they did not have access to a supplementary facilities.
Half of the clubs (50.91 per cent) revealed players were NOT willing to return home after a match without access to showers and changing facilities.
In light of the findings, league chiefs now propose to start the league no earlier than October 24.
This is to allow time for the Sfa to make a case for a financial support to the Scottish Government. Clubs and league chiefs are expected to reconvene next week via a Zoom meeting.
