West Lothian zoo announces return of popular Christmas light show

The Five Sisters Zoo has announced the return of its popular Christmas illumination events as well as the reopening of its soft play area thanks to the further easing of covid restrictions.

The West Calder attraction confirmed its Christmas Illuminations and FSZ Autumn Nights will be back after being cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

Zoo staff said the winter shows will be “bigger and brighter” than ever before, with display lighting, enchanted walkways, illuminated water fountains and musical lighting shows for families to enjoy.

And the zoo said on Facebook that early bird tickets for the shows will go on sale tomorrow (Friday).

It said: “There will be thousands of beautiful lights gently illuminating our animal enclosures and gardens to create, what we believe to be a truly breathtaking experience.

“Guests can also take a stroll through our spectacular life sized animal-themed lanterns.

The zoo said it was also delighted to announce the reopening of the Leaping Lemurs soft play centre, with 90-minute bookings now available.

The FSZ Autumn Nights’ new spectacular lighting event will be returning from Saturday, October 22 until Sunday, November 14 (every Thursday to Sunday) 6pm to 9pm.

And the zoo Christmas illuminations will return on Wednesday, December 1 and runs until Thursday, December 23 (every Wednesday to Sunday) 5pm to 9pm.
