West Lothian youngster gets locks chopped for Little Princess Trust

A young West Lothian girl more than doubled her fundraising target of £250 for donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust.

Sofia Giubarelli (5) from Armadale was supposed to get seven inches of her hair cut off to be used to make a real hair wig for a sick child, but despite being nervous about the dramatic trim, she went even further and donated 12 inches.

Sofia raised £650 on her Just Giving page and in offline donations.

Speaking to the Courier, Emily Giubarelli, Sofia’s mum, said: “She wanted to get it to shoulder-length, so it ended up being much longer than the seven inches originally planned.

“I was worried she wouldn’t be happy with shorter hair but she was giggling when they started cutting it, and she loves her new look. I’m immensely proud of her.”
