West Lothian 'young team' chancer selling 'polis radio' for £300 on online group

A West Lothian chancer has raised eyebrows online after he tried to flog a 'polis radio' for £300 in Facebook groups.

The seller shared a picture of an old Motorola phone, dating back to 2004, claiming it to be a device used by Police Scotland.

The model is no longer manufactured however sales of the device on Ebay range from £80 to £200.

The device was posted on a Facebook page called 'Items For Sale in West Lothian' and a group called 'Young Team' on Thursday evening.

Police forces are understood to have previously used the devices while on patrol.

Police Scotland told the Daily Record: "Officers are aware of this and enquiries have been carried out.

"These are not police radios as advertised and have no access to police systems.

"Should members of the public be in any way concerned regarding the purchase of one they should contact Police Scotland on 101."
