A West Lothian cyclist has marked three years since his horror accident by thanking everyone who "rallied around him" during the terrifying ordeal.
Josh Quigley, now 30, had been hospitalised in Texas for weeks in 2019 after the cyclist and mental health campaigner was hit by a car while trying to complete his 'ride around the world' attempt.
The then 27-year-old was hit by a vehicle and suffered extensive injuries. He was flown by helicopter to hospital in Texas, where he was treated for a broken pelvis, a fractures skull and even a punctured lung.
Reflecting on the accident three years later, Josh thanked those who helped him, adding that he still has "great memories" from that period of his life.
Taking to Twitter, Josh said: "Three years ago today since I went for a wee ride in a helicopter. Such good memories of that time in my life and still so grateful for all the people in the Great State of Texas who rallied around me whilst I was in hospital in America over Christmas.

"Big love to Texas."
Since his injuries, Josh has made a full recovery, and has even gone on to achieve the Guinness World Record for the ‘greatest distance cycled in one week’, in September 2021.
The cyclist has also raised over £25,000 for charity, after first being inspired to start cycling after hearing a talk from Sir Chris Hoy in Edinburgh years ago.
