West Lothian woodcraft club's exhibition a huge hit

Broxburn Woodcraft Club’s annual show and exhibition showed off the best of what the group has to offer.

The exhibition at the Strathbrock Centre also featured displays by the calligraphy and art clubs.

Several hundred visitors attended the event and the woodcraft demonstrations proved to be extremely popular.

The categories judged in the competition were woodturning and stick making.

Frank Di Carlo won best in show for his rocking horse, faceplate turning was won by Dave Wilcocks, spindle turning was Frank Di Carlo, novice turning went to Diane Riches, pen making was awarded to Robin Sutton, pyrography went to Andy Prowse.

Woodcraft awards went to Frank Di Carlo and Diane Riches, segmented was won by Robin Sutton, the scroll saw award went to Moura Sawyers and the club challenge was won by Willie Watson.

In the stick makers Steven Docherty won Best in Show, novice winner was Andy Prowse, the thumb stick award was won by Tam Stewart, the plain wood prize was taken by Steven Docherty, fancy horn went to Tam Stewart, leg cleek was won by Andy Prowse and the others prize went to George Bootland.
