West Lothian voters head to the polls

People in West Lothian are heading to the polls today (Thursday) to vote in the Scottish Parliament elections.

Polling stations opened this morning and will remain open until 10pm tonight.

But this year the votes will not be counted overnight due to covid restrictions so we'll all have to wait longer than usual for the results.

Up for grabs are seats in the Linlithgow and and Almond Valley constituencies (Stuart Vance/ReachPlc)

Up for grabs are seats in the Linlithgow and and Almond Valley constituencies, previously held by the SNP's Fiona Hyslop and Angela Constance, respectively.

Votes will be counted at West Lothian College from 9am tomorrow (Friday) for the Linlithgow seat, with results expected later that day and counting for Almond valley will not begin until 9am on Saturday, so we'll have to wait until later on Saturday to find out who has won that seat.
