As part of its partnership with the UK Government, Valneva is boosting capacity at its West Lothian site by building a brand new state-of-the-art vaccine manufacturing facility, which is nearing completion.

The expansion is creating new skilled jobs, with additional economic benefits gained through a number of local supply chain companies.

Valneva has already added to its workforce since establishing a major Covid-19 vaccine partnership with the UK Government in September 2020 - developing the only inactivated, adjuvanted, whole virus vaccine against Covid-19 in clinical trials in Europe.

The vaccine is being manufactured at the Company’s facility in Livingston, West Lothian, which is a globally qualified manufacturing site for viral vaccines.

Vincent Dequenne, Valneva’s senior vice president operations, said: “Valneva’s Covid-19 vaccine partnership is the latest chapter in its decade-long history of manufacturing world-class vaccines in Livingston.

“We are proud to be strengthening our team at the same time as contributing to the global fight against Covid-19 and bolstering vaccine manufacturing capacity. Valneva’s team underpins its success and we are committed to creating opportunities, harnessing talent and building skills for the future.”

Jeanette Rigby, director human resources UK, added: “As we boost manufacturing capacity, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a scientific background, production experience and track record of supervising teams who might be well-suited to join us as a manufacturing supervisor or shift leader.

Vaccine manufacturing at Valneva offers an excellent opportunity to apply technical skills with a real impact. Our whole team are excited about the prospects for our Covid-19 vaccine, as well as the other new vaccine candidates that the company is developing.”

While this recruitment campaign is focused on manufacturing, current vacancies also include quality control and assurance, engineering, supply chain and support functions. Details of all vacancies can be viewed on the Company’s website at Valneva.com/careers.
