West Lothian thieves leave single mum without car amid pandemic after smashing window with rock

A West Lothian mum is appealing for information after shameless thieves smashed her car window with a rock.

In a post that has since been shared across social media in a bid to find those responsible, Abbie Ferguson, from Livingston, slammed the thieves who have left her with a "hefty bill" and vulnerable during the pandemic.

The single mum had only left her car for an hour on Murieston Road, between 5:45-18:45pm on Tuesday evening (21 April), when she returned to find the rear window had been smashed and items had been stolen, including her baby's changing bag.

She said: "My rear window was smashed in with a rock and my baby’s changing bag was taken from the boot.

"Thankfully there was nothing in the bag other than nappies, wipes etc."

She added: "I was there walking with my baby and on the way I passed many other people walking their dog and jogging.

"I was wondering if anyone saw anything or has a dash cam? I have also attached pictures of my car and the changing bag incase anyone seen someone with it."

Abbie explains that, despite not getting a hold of her purse, the heartless thieves have now left her without a car amid the pandemic.

She added: "And to the lovely individuals that did it... thank you so much for that! Whilst you have nothing to show for that I’m going to have a hefty bill from my insurance.

"As a single mum in the middle of a pandemic, I rely on my car an insane amount."
