West Lothian teens rushed to hospital after late night drinking session in local park

Two West Lothian teenagers were taken to hospital after a drinking session in a local park got out of hand.

Today (May 7), police in the area confirmed scenes in Howden Park have improved over recent weeks, however they added that anti-social behaviour is still a concern.

The Livingston park has had a number of incidents originate there during the pandemic, with two young teenagers attacked while playing football on April 24.

However, last Saturday officers stated that two young people "had to be conveyed to hospital due to their levels of intoxication."

Both individuals are said to have made a full recovery.

Now, West Lothian police have stated their presence in the area will continue, and wrote in a post:

"Local officers are out in the area this afternoon as well as visiting local off licences highlighting the issues to them as well as reminding them of their responsibilities.

"Remember, buying alcohol and providing to young people is an offence. More importantly, providing alcohol to young people poses a significant risk to that young person’s safety, as illustrated last weekend, as well as having a significant impact on the local community.

"Please stay safe, remember your responsibilities, and enjoy your weekend."
