West Lothian teenager Tiree Burchill makes Celtic Women's debut in season-ending win over Motherwell

Livingston teenager Tiree Burchill made her Celtic Women's debut yesterday as the Hoops ended their season in style.

The Glasgow outfit booked their place in next season's Women's Champions League thanks to a commanding 8-0 triumph over Motherwell as they secured second place behind Scottish Women's Premier League 1 champions Glasgow City.

Burchill, who has Scotland youth caps to her name and is the daughter of former Celtic striker and Livingston manager Mark Burchill, came off the bench for the final 15 minutes.

The youngster could have had a dream debut but saw her injury-time header saved.

Celtic were missing seven players who were self-isolating following a suspected positive Covid-19 case, but Fran Alonso's side were able to run out comfortable winners thanks to goals from Kate Nicolson, Sara Ewens, Anna Filbey twice, Chloe Craig, London Pollard, Kelly Clark, and Lisa Robertson.
