West Lothian swimming club celebrate tremendous championship

Swim-IT have been celebrating a tremendous East District Age Group Championship season that tallied a string of top awards and medals for the club.

A total of eight members contested the four rounds against the region’s top youth swimmers and proved they were more than a match.

Rachel Donald, Sophie Holleran, Mia MacLeod, Natalie Marshall, Fraser McKane, Fraser McKee, Abbie Morton and Grace Stephen combined for a total of 57 individual swims and, between them, swam 50 new personal best times.

The club grabbed nine gold medals, three silvers and two bronzes as well as an additional 21 top-10 finishes.

And there was individual success too as Mia McLeod won Top Girl for the 12 and under age group as well as the Andrew Taylor Memorial Trophy for the highest number of points awarded to a 12 and under female swimmer.

Dougie Hopkins and Fiona Donald also won the top coaches award.
