West Lothian sides learn Scottish Cup Preliminary Round opponents

Three West Lothian clubs learned who they will be facing for a place in the First Round of this season's Scottish Cup following this afternoon's Preliminary Round draw.

Blackburn United, Broxburn Athletic and Linlithgow Rose were all in the hat with the Rose the first team to be drawn. They were handed a home tie against SJFA North Region outfit Banks O' Dee. The Aberdeen outfit knocked Linlithgow out in the second preliminary round four years ago.

While Brown Ferguson's side were first to be drawn, Chris Townsley's Broxburn Athletic were last as they were drawn away from home to fellow East of Scotland Premier Division side Dunbar United. The Brox suffered a 2-1 defeat at New Countess Park just three weeks ago.

The Brox famously reached the fourth round in their first Scottish Cup campaign two years ago and took over 1500 fans through to Paisley as they were beaten 3-0 by top flight St Mirren.

Blackburn United, meanwhile, have been handed a great chance of picking up their first ever win in the competition as they welcome East of Scotland Conference B mid-table outfit Easthouses Lily Miners Welfare to West Lothian.

Ties are set to be played on the weekend of August 28.
