A West Lothian schoolgirl has had a whopping 20 inches chopped from her hair to help youngsters who are undergoing treatment for cancer.
Erin Ellis’s hair reached down to the back of her knees before she had it cut for the Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for youngsters losing their hair due to chemotherapy.
And the nine-year-old East Calder Primary School pupil was delighted after also raising over £700 for the charity.

Proud granny Carolyn Manders said: “Erin has wanted to cut her for a long time to make a wig for children who lost their hair through cancer treatments etc. She was going to do it last year but due to covid restrictions she had to wait.
“She cut of a whopping 20 inches of her beautiful hair. Our family and friends are so proud of this little girl for thinking of others.
“She also managed to raise £715 for The Little Princess Trust as once the hair is donated it costs £550 to make the hair into a wig so she is so pleased that she raised enough money to make her hair into a wig with some money left over which can go towards another wig.
“Erin is a very thoughtful and kind little girl and was so proud to receive her certificate from the Little Princess Trust.
“I am a very proud granny!”
